Improving performance on High-End systems....
I don't know for sure whether this deserved its own topic, but I think it does. I found that to keep good performance late-game on higher end systems with lots of RAM (>2 GB) it's actually better to DISABLE the CNC Memory Patch listed in the Improving Performance topic.
On my own test suite with 4,5 GB RAM (64 bit) and a 2,8 ghz AMD Dual Core CWC and other quality mods ran much better late-game with either 4 or 8 AI or 4-8 players when the priorities weren't set(Disabled them in the CWC launcher). Same goes for the gaming rig with 8GB and a Phenom II X6 @ 3,8 Ghz. In both cases the processor didn't seem to make a huge difference, but adding RAM did keep the FPS at a reasonable 40 when the entire screen was full with units, explosions and the entire map revealed. I tested this by switching the amounts of RAM on both PC's, and the Dual Core performed much better with 8GB than the Hexacore did with 4.
It may be just me, but I would ask some other high-end system owner to double check this.

Noticed this some time ago. Now we always set priorities to real-time for game.dat and generals.exe.

Yeah, but talking specifically about no priorities.
Speaking of which, a test with both set to Low and Game.dat only to Real Time seems to yield even better results.
